SDG 6 Fellowship in UK and Europe (Fully Funded) 2025
The International Water Association and Grundfos are pleased to invite young professionals to apply for the 2025 SDG 6 Fellowship. The Fellowship, held in London, Denmark and Scotland, is dedicated to empowering young professionals to contribute to sustainable water resource management. The SDG6 Fellowship 2025-2026 aims to address the needs and priorities of the water sector in a rapidly changing world.
SDG 6 embodies the sixth Sustainable Development Goal, which aims to ensure access to water and sanitation for all. This fully-funded Fellowship is fully covered and open to all citizens. Find out more below.

Number of Fellowships
The International Water Association (IWA) and Grundfos will select 14 Young Water Professionals (YWPs) from different countries.
Financial Benefits of the SDG 6 Fellowship
- There is no fee required to register or participate.
- The fellowship will provide round-trip airfare.
- The fellowship includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Accommodation will be provided for all participants.
- Ground transportation between hotels and the airport will be covered.
- Travel insurance will be provided for participants.
- Visa application fees will be covered.
Fellowship Location
- London, UK: IWA headquarters in London.
- Denmark: Grundfos headquarters, where the Fellowship will take place in April 2025.
- Glasgow, Scotland: IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition, scheduled for September 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for the SDG 6 Fellowship
- Knowledge of key water issues at the local and international levels.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to making a positive impact in the water sector.
- Have leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative water solutions.
- Strong command of English.
- The applicant must not have previously participated in the IWA & Grundfos Youth Action Fellow programme.
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- The applicant must be a member of IWA to be eligible for the Fellowship.

Required Documents
- An updated CV must be submitted.
- Attach a letter explaining your motivation and goals for the fellowship.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from someone who knows your professional and academic potential.
- Submit a proposal outlining the ideas and plans you would like to implement during the fellowship period.
- All documents must be compiled into a single PDF file, labeled “FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME_COUNTRYOFORIGIN“.
- A copy of a valid passport is required.
